Our shop minimums $50

CAN I GET A TATTOO WHEN SICK?

When you are sick, generally it is a good idea to reschedule your tattoo. Your immune system is already busy trying to fight the infection and doesn’t need further complication. Getting tattooed while sick could make the tattoo take longer to heal (and not heal as well), and prolong your sickness. Even some medications can have an effect on the healing process.

HOW TO PREPARE FOR MY TATTOO?

A good night’s rest, proper meal and hydration will not only make the process of tattooing more comfortable, but will also better prepare your body for healing when the tattoo is done. Blood sugar levels are important for being able to keep those endorphins going, which help to keep pain in check. Receiving a tattoo can be a challenging process, so if you’re getting a big tattoo, snacks and arranging a ride for after could be beneficial.

We will also need to see your ID to confirm that you are over 18 years of age.

Be sure to wear comfortable clothing that gives the artist ample access to the area being tattooed. Tattoo inks and ointments are notoriously difficult to remove from fabrics.

Alcohol and painkillers also don’t mix well with getting a tattoo. They can thin the blood, which may slow healing and leave you open to infection for longer. If your doctor has you on medications that thin the blood, please consult with them before getting a tattoo. We will also not tattoo anyone who cannot consent to a modification of their body with a clear mind.

SHOULD YOU TIP?

Well this just got awkward. It’s a common question that a lot of people are afraid to ask, so here it is. We are providing a service, and artists are only making a cut of the cost of your tattoo. Tipping is expected. If you are getting tattooed plan on tacking on 10-20% (15% is the average) of the cost of your tattoo as a tip. Technically tips are optional and you should only tip what you can comfortably afford. A little something given in all sincerity with gratitude is always better than nothing.
